Lili & Joe - A Look Back
Hey Drew!
I was actually going to email you after teaching my class today…we watched them last night!! What an utterly amazing job you guys did :-) My family came over and we laughed and cried and I just never imagined how emotional reliving it would actually be…it was such a beautiful thing for us to do together. There were so many personal touches - little laughs from my mom, facial expressions and things that you just miss - my how it flies! The movie makes it possible to see how it all unfolded and in such a personal and wonderfully creative way! I can’t wait to watch it all over again!!!!
Thank you for everything you and Alycsa did to make sure we could have this experience!!
Carissa & Ryan’s Preview Trailer
After a chance meeting at a bar while in college, many dates and Mets games later…Ryan pulled off a surprise proposal at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, complete with family members secretly documenting the moment. A Philadelphia wedding was planned, and the following is a brief story of how this couple went from close friendship to soul mates. Enjoy!

Hi Drew-
I hope you had a lovely Thanksgiving holiday. First of all, we LOVE our wedding video. The music is great and included some of my favorite songs - and you captured such great moments including my two nieces who didn’t make the pictures! And the editing was done extremely well. My family loved it as well. You were right - well worth the wait. Cheers- Sharon
90 Seconds and A Lifelong Love
My brain sparked with curiosity; how was this machine with aluminum wings and giant fans going to power us into the sky and then somehow safely deliver us to a location far from home? I was about four years old and it was my first time on an airplane and I had just been bitten by the plane bug. Ever since, I have been enamored with planes, the science of flight and the history and future of aviation.
Now as an adult, this passion has continued and I can candidly admit to my nerdy hobbies such as playing Flight Simulator, reading Airways magazine and occasionally falling asleep at night listening to the static-streaked sounds of live air traffic control transmissions on my iPhone. That’s right, I am a complete geek!
As both an aviation enthusiast and a videocinema professional (my new term;), I believe this 90 second mini-film from British Airways’ recently launched marketing campaign is exceptionally compelling. Will it be successful in terms of marketing metrics? That’s very debatable and British Airways does not elicit unconditional love, especially from our friends across the pond. While this spot certainly has its flaws (lack of female pilots just to name one), this simply feels good to watch and here’s why:
-The cinematography is thoughtful and uncomplicated.
-The CGI is vibrant and accurate (Only a few of the aircraft types you see actually still have airworthy planes that can still fly!) The voice-over copy is nostalgically poetic and the editors chose music that dances with the visuals and adds emotional undertones without melodramatic pandering.
-The sound design really brings the viewer into the cockpit, onto the runway and up to the sky. It’s the distant ominous cracks of thunder, the distinctive rattle of old piston propellers spooling up, and the muted roar of the Concorde’s supersonic afterburners. These sounds will resonate with both the casual viewer as well as the hardcore aviation buff.
-Finally, the editors adeptly navigates through 90 years of aviation and corporate history in 90 seconds and yet still manages to maintain a feeling of forward progress.
In this age of maddening baggage fees, overcrowded planes, invasive TSA groping etc., it’s very difficult to feel positive about anything related to air travel, and unfortunately has become a source of stress and cynicism for most of us.
Maybe it was the wide-eyed anticipation you felt as kid when you boarded that plane to Disney World for the first time or to visit your grandparents. Maybe it was the excitement you felt with your spouse as your plane started its takeoff roll en route to your honeymoon. Or maybe you just like the simple reassuring sensation and sound of the plane’s wheels touching down on the runway as you return home to the familiar. For each one of us, planes transport us to places both physically and emotionally. Watch this and let me know what you think!
